My experiences at the customs preclearance stations have been extremely varied. Sometimes the crew in Toronto is nice, sometimes they are extremely cold. Ottawa actually is where I had the nicest experience, where I was even casually chatting with one of the agents while the computer was doing its thing.

Got a terrific laugh out of episode 61 while walking down the streets in Manhattan (listening to the solo bit) and drew stares as people undoubtedly thought I was nuts or wanted some of, what they assumed, I had snorted or smoked!

Just wanted to set the record straight...about the hair testing. You were fairly confident it wouldn't come here. It is already here and has been here for years. I have reached Captain and have been left seating since around '99. Have flown for three of the big guys and two of the three have had hair testing going all the way back to my first random test in '96. They use that method instead of the cup because it records any drug use for the length of your hair. I think the average is one inch per month. So if you had a joint two years ago and you have hair at, or longer than 24'd get caught. Why do you think there are so many shaved headed pilots??? ;) Just kidding...really. But if you refuse the test...they refuse your job. Since I don't partake...I don't mind. Just thought I would let you know that you may be giving a sample of your lovely locks before you know it. BTW.... you can't tell any hair is gone as they take single strand samples from 4 or 5 different locations so there is no change in yourself can't even tell.

Keep up the hilarious podcast!
