Austrian Airlines Chef Experience

So as I posted a few weeks ago I was in a bit of a conundrum as to wheter to fly Austrian Airlines or not.  In the end, I opted to stick with it and the final result is mixed.

While I really enjoyed the onboard experience (and the uniforms of the Flight Attendents), the seat was downright awful.  Within an hour of sitting in the seat my bottom was numb and I was shifting to try to find a somewhat comfortable spot.

Sleeping in the seat was no picnic either.  The seat greatly lacked some serious padding.  But I do give high marks to the blanket.  It was unique and comfortable.

On the bright side, I've heard the seats will be getting replaced over the summer so this may just be a temporary problem.

Best food ever or just so-so?

The food was pretty not bad VIE-IAD. The onboard service was nice- for a full C cabin they did well. Boarding was rough with a VIE-JFK bird departing at the same time. The inboard color scheme is horrible, to fit in the seats you need to remove 4 or 5 of your limbs. Yet, I still like them & would return... Just after a seat refresh.

Just flew them yesterday; food, service, and seat on TK was honestly better. The seat was horrible in that it felt like a padded children's slide.

@Matthew: Not best food, but towards the top. At least at JFK, the catering is done by DO&CO which does the catering for LH First as well.

@Solar: It could be based on the originating point. At JFK it's coming from the same place where the LH and TK service is coming from, so it may be a higher caliber.

@Ben: My last experience on TK was stellar, but I wasn't that impressed by the food. But I have no argument about the seat, the OS seat is awful.
