Megabus is Following Me: New Routes Launching From ATL

This time last year, Megabus did a major expansion from Washington DC, and it included service to Durham, NC where I lived at the time.  This year Megabus is launching a brand new hub, Atlanta, GA.  After going through withdrawl for cheap trips, I can now take Megabus again for destinations throughout the southeast.  The destinations being served from ATL are as follows:

  • Birmingham, AL
  • Charlotte, NC
  • Chattanooga, TN
  • Mobile, AL
  • Gainesville, FL
  • Jacksonville, FL
  • Knoxcille, TN
  • Memphis, TN
  • Montgomery, AL
  • Nashville, TN
  • Orlando, FL
Service will begin on November 16th and follow their standard pricing scale.  I'm really looking forward to it, especially depending on the schedule they have running to CLT, as that may make it easier for me to get up to DC reliably (I've waited 6 hours for no reason on Amtrak), as well as sacing gas money on some of the cities.  And after enjoying my previous trip, it is real easy to see me traveling around the southeast.
Now some of these cities have insane airfare costs, and this actually presents a possible way for people to get to them a little more affordably.  As the station is located at a MARTA station, you can actually land in Atlanta, and it only costs a train ride to the bus stop.  The savings could be worth it.
Now if only they would start a rewards program ;)

I have really missed Megabus this year!
