Well, it is hard to believe that it has been one year since I started blogging here. And although I have not been the most consistent of bloggers, I have also been forced through some major life changes. Going from gainfully employed in a traveling job, to unemployed, to employed in a desk job. Looking back at my posts, I have learned a lot about my travel patterns when you sit down and analyze it. I find that I am less of an airline person, and more of a hotel snob. Don't get me wrong, I still love status on the airlines, but I like having luxury much cheaper than the average customer.
I was a short haul flyer, primarily flying on United, and would fly on Air Canada when I could get away with it. I lived in an area with no real strong ties to one airline, so choosing one over another required no real effort. Now I fly longer domestic routes to wherever I want to go, and am a liesure traveler. My status is taking a hit, but I'm positioning myself to fix it next year. I've been at the highest levels of status and I don't regret any bit of it.
So here is to another year of interesting travel adventures.

Congrats on one year, Nick. That sure went by fast!
My congrats, too, Nick. I yearn for top-tier hotel status. Maybe 2012 will be my year. Keep on blogging!
