As I mentioned in my last posting, Mileage Running for United 1K Status, the end of May and the beginning of June will see me on a plane at least four times per week. About two weeks ago, I got my passport back from the Brazilian government, and now have a visa that is valid for the next ten years! I am hoping to make it back to Brazil towards the end of the year, as part of the Star Mega DO III.
On Thursday, I'll kick off my Mega Mileage Run, by flying from Denver>Los Angeles>San Francisco. I had hoped to book a non-stop flight from DEN-SFO, but the timing did not work out, as I will be driving to Denver, from Kansas, on Wednesday afternoon, spending the night near the Kansas border, and then driving to DIA (Denver International Airport) on Thursday morning. While the seat map is not the best indicator, my flight to LAX has very few empty seats, so I am hoping that I can volunteer to take a bump. If successful, the $400 credit I receive will pay for one of my trips to Sao Paulo, as well as the positioning flights I had to book.
Friday morning, I'll be flying out of San Jose (SJC) to LAX, and then on to Lihue, Hawaii! I am very much looking forward to some rest and relaxation during my three days in Hawaii, as well as an opportunity to try out my new, Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6D, wide-angle lens.
In addition, I will be reviewing the Grand Hyatt Kauai, and their Ocean Suite, as well as posting a review of the flights to/from Lihue. While I mostly focus on traveling, I will also cover our excursions in Kauai, as well as photos from the various restaurants that we visit. When I think about eating some Ahi Poke, my mouth starts to water!
Have a great week!
