It's True! BLI - OGG for $179 each way!

Late last night I leaked that Alaska would take on Allegiant Air with direct flights from Bellingham to Maui this November and sure enough today tickets went on sale! At 8:18am PST this morning Alaska Air announced publicly that they would begin service on the route! To celebrate Alaska’s newest announced routes, tickets can be found on alskaair.com and are priced as low as $178 each way ($159 + Tax)! Just late last night tickets were priced at $300 each way with a stop in Seattle, now one can fly ROUNDTRIP from Bellingham (or Vancouver) for the price of one-way!

The Sale Price of $179 each way for a total of $356 is about $200 less than WestJets or AirCanada Nonstop service offers from Vancouver airport (~22 miles North) and ~ $100 less than nonstop flights departing from Seattle (~105 miles South).

In the media release Alaska points out that not only can Canadian travelers save money by flying from Bellingham, Alaska has NO carry-on baggage fee. Alaska’s only direct competition on this route will be from Allegiant who charges up to $35 for a roll aboard bag (or any bag that does not fit at your feet) and $35 for a check bag VS Alaska’s $20 fee for a check bag and free carry-on bag.

"Our growing service out of Bellingham gives customers across Western Washington and Southern British Columbia more ways to reach sunny Hawaii," said Joe Sprague, Alaska Airlines' vice president of marketing. "With Alaska Airlines' great low fares, no charge for a carry-on bag and award-winning service, travelers can enjoy peace of mind that they're getting the best value and service for their money."

Award winning Alaska Airline with the best on-time performance for Major North American carriers and Highest in Customer Satisfaction among Traditional Network Carriers in North America, Five Years in a Row will bring their love to this new route and offer all the amenities that other flights from the mainland to Hawaii offers, including complimentary and delicious POG juice and 1 free Mai Tai cocktail (for those guests 21+) before arrival in Hawaii.
