Alaska Airline and SeaTac Airport North Star Project

The North satellite at SeaTac airport is dark, old, a bit stagnate feeling, and in need for a major renovation. Although the North satellite is nothing like Delta’s world port at JFK, it is 40 years old and outdated. However in the near future this will all be changing thanks to SeaTac’s largest air carrier Alaska Airline.

Today the Port of Seattle and Alaska Airline finally came to an agreement to allow a remodel of the north Satellite and additional renovations including ...

Targeted: 75% bonus mile per dollar spent on Delta Amex

Everyone has his or her favorite credit card. I have a few favorite credit cards and it honestly just depends on what I’m buying determine what my favorite credit card is. However, with that, if you are anything like me you use your credit card for their benefits and free miles more than anything else.

My Platinum Delta Skymiles card is just one of the many credit cards in my wallet. Needing to grasp a higher Elite Status last fall, I took advantage of the 10,000 EQM for ...

Jet Blue Launches Elite Program "TrueBlue Mosaic"

Today was a busy day for Low Cost Carrier's Frequent Flyer programs in the United States with both Virgin America and JetBlue announcing new loyalty perks for frequent flyers. Vx announced Elevate Silver and Gold and B6 announced the launch of TrueBlue Mosaic.

TrueBlue Mosaic is a watered down elite program to say thank you to JetBlue’s most frequent flyers.

With TrueBlue Mosaic comes more benefits, more rewards and more reasons to like JetBlue. TrueBlue Mosaic ...

Virgin America Launches Elite Program

As much as I LOVE flying Virgin America, I rarely do because my points are somewhat useless and their route network is too small for my likings. However, despite this, my largest grib with Vx has always been their lack of an elite program for their loyal frequent flyers. However, today Vx listened and has announced the launching of their new Virgin America Elevate Elite program.

Virgin America will be launching their new elite program on August 8th and will include three levels. The ...

SeatGuru Fails Me

Every time I fly ANYWHERE I always jump onto when selecting my seat to ensure that I get the best seat on the plane. Rather that be an Exit row or a bulkhead, I want to make sure that my seat is going to have everything I want in a seat. I do not want to be crammed in like a sardine (Hey I fly coach A LOT) and if available, I want power (some airplanes only have power in the first few rows of economy). Not to mention, I want to make sure there is none of those annoying emergency ...

More Room in Economy Than First Class?

Flying from Vegas to Los Angeles is always a wonderful experience because I can get to the airport, through security, land, grab my bag (if checked) and get to my hotel in Vegas quicker than I could drive the 4 hours+ between the two cities. Not to mention with ALMOST EVERY major airline flying the route, and even smaller competitors like Spirit and Jet Blue, fares between Las Vegas and the 5 area LA airports (LAX, Ontario, Long beach, Burbank, and Santa Anna) tend to be low! Often times as ...

Over the 4th of July I decided to take a vacation with my friend to vegas. On my way there, I was upgraded to first class and needed to write a quick blog post while in the air. I sat down, removed my wallet, cellphone and keys from my pocket and placed them all in the seatback pocket because my jeans were a little too stylish and a little too tight for comfort! Upon landing at LAS, I stood up to disembark the plane and grabbed everything from my seatback pocket.

I walked about ...

Delta's Fleet Expansion....I'm confused?!

Has Delta Lost their mind?

On July 9th Delta sent a press release which outlined their fleet plan with the acquisition of 88 new B717 jets from AirTran between 2013 and 2015 and the introduction of the B737-900ER starting in 2013. In this new release Delta made two comments that left me shaking my head from disbelief.

“The Boeing 717s will primarily replace small 50-seat regional jets on a capacity-neutral basis. The 110-seat aircraft will feature new, fully upgraded ...

Is This Card Indestructible?

A few months ago I decided I needed to diversify my point spending and find new ways to earn airline miles and points with credit cards. Although I love my American Express Gold card and all the opportunities to earn double and triple points (travel, gas, etc) and have always loved Amex’s transfer partners like British Airways, Delta, Hilton, Aeroplan, etc. it was time to find ways to earn points on United without flying United Metal and find a way to transfer to the Hyatt. This is ...

UPGRD My Room In Vegas Baby!

This last week over the 4th of July I had the opportunity to cash in on my gambling habits in Vegas for a free room at the Total Rewards Casinos (Harrah's, Paris, Caesars, Flamingo, Bally's, Rio, etc).  Being that it was the week of 4th of July rooms on the strip were not their typical Monday-Thursday night lows and nights like the 3rd and 4th were going for $150+ at the lower end resorts (Harrah's, Flamingo, Bally's) and well over $250 at ...

If ANYTHING good has come from TSA in the Post 9/11 world It's TSA Pre✓! For the regular traveler or just the person who flies a few times a year, the ability to walk through airport security without violation of the 4th amendment is a nice change to flying since 9/11. Not to mention, just the ability to leave your shoes and belt on, and your laptop and other personal items in your bag is a nice change, plus a time saver. Also, if anyone has ever used TSA  Pre✓, the agents are ...

Changes To Singapore Airline's KrisFlyer Program

Yesterday I wrote to you to inform you that Singapore Airline is updated their reservation systems on July 6th and 7th. Singapore airlines will join over 115 airlines that currently use the Amadeus Altéa suite syste, in fact the majority of  Star Alliance carriers already uses this system (17 as of October of 2011) and with SIA upgraded this month, it willcloser align SIA with the rest of the Star Alliance carriers. Although the upgrade is probably overall good, two negative ...
