The Hilton Prague - I award you the best Hilton Executive lounge in Europe! - Congratulations

Winner of ‘The Best Hotel in the Czech Republic' for the 4th consecutive year at the TTG Travel awards 2011, the Hilton Prague hotel is still one of my favorite Hilton’s out there. I will also like to award the Hilton Prague with an award of my own, the best Hilton Executive lounge in Europe. I have been to most; if not all the Hilton hotels in Europe with lounges so I think I can empower myself with bestowing this award. Hands down this hotel runs a lounge that I would say is worth paying for. The hotel location is in walking distance to the old town and it about a 15-20 min walk to the city center square. It is important to note that Hilton has two hotels in Prague; the Hilton Prague Old Town and the Hilton Prague. The Hilton Prague Old Town might have a little better location, but I much prefer and would recommend the Hilton Prague. The Old Town Hilton is a smaller hotel that is very nice and has an ok lounge.

The VIP recognition at the Hilton Prague is good, they are wonderful at upgrading and treating HH VIPs very well. I have been to this hotel over 5 times now going back 6 years. Unlike other hotels I have noticed very little if any cut backs.

This time I was upgraded to an Executive suite when. This suite was basically two connection rooms; one a bedroom and the other a living room. The bedroom had a full bath with shower and tub, the living room bathroom had only a shower. The room was very clean and well appointed. They stocked both bathrooms with larger then normal Peter Thomas Roth amenities.

The Executive lounge is fantastic, Breakfast is large and very good. This lounge it like a small restaurant with a kitchen. You can order off a menu and get items made to order. The french toast is amazing! The “small” bar opens right after breakfast, a line of help your self bottles line the shelf. There are small sandwiches and a big selection of cakes and sweets mid-day. There is afternoon tea with even more cakes and goodies. Beer, Wine and soft drinks are stocked all day, along with pistachios, gummy bears, potato chips and other nuts. Around 5pm the Bar grows over doubling the number of bottles out, and at 6pm 2 hot items were added. Unlike most other lounges when all the good stuff gets locked up after 8 or 830. The Hilton Prague keeps out the large self service bar, and even have a cheese service late at night, with a selection of fine cheese, grapes and nuts. To make this even better there is staff there to provide table service all day long, they are also very nice to chat with. It got to the point when I looked at my friend who I was traveling with and said, this is crazy! It was shocking how things kept coming out, food was restocked over and over, drinks were flowing, and it was just an awesome experience. I walked up to the bottles of booze and just could not pick, then Hiromi (sp?) the girl working in the lounge walked up to me and offered to help; she was very nice and cool. I told her I did not know what I should drink, she then offered to give me a “local” plum shoot from the back.. She came out to the table with a frosted bottle of this stuff and gave us a nice size shooter. Yummy stuff. People like Hiromi make this lounge one of the best, she was just so helpful and nice!

Again out all day to enjoy!

1/2 Bar all day

Full bar at night

As you can see the lounge is just wonderful, the service is like clock work, the staff is tops and it is worth paying for! As a Hilton Diamond getting this for free is just amazing and it makes most other Hilton lounges look lame. This should be the benchmark lounge other hotels copy from, becuase if they did people would book and pay for lounge access.

The hotel is a very large atrium style hotel with many shops and services in the lobby. This is one of these hotels when you walk in you just look around and smile. This is a classic full service five star hotel.

The Hilton Prague also has a very cool bar/club on the 9th floor called Cloud 9. It is closed on Sunday, so I could not go on this trip, but here are some photos of Cloud 9.

Thanks to the staff at the Hilton Prague for just one more wonderful stay! I will be back to your hotel, and the very cool city of Prague as soon as I can!!!!

On a side note this hotel is a "Quinn Hotel" and I'm looking forward to my stay at one of their other Hotels that happens to be a Hilton; The Hilton Sofia, it will be something to see if all Quinn Hotels are this good!

Wow, that does look like a phenomenal lounge for a Hilton. And the Nespresso machine in the room ain't bad either! Were the capsules complimentary?

Damian November 26, 2011 at 12:23 am

Yes A.S. there was like 6 capsules in the room for that Machine, and yes free. It think the machines are only in Suites and Jr. Suites. I have noticed them at more and more Hiltons in Europe mostly in suites.

I love this hotel! It is the best lounge at any Hilton I have ever been too!

My words! THIS is why this Hilton was, is and always will be my favorite Hilton. Looking forward going back!

Wow!! what a gorgeous hotel!! Would like to go to, but guess I'll be unlikely to go!! It seems to be so expensive!!

Damian January 18, 2012 at 05:09 pm

Sara, the price of this hotel is not that bad. You can book via and the current promotion for around $120.00 USD per night.

I loved this hotel as well. I stayed there in 2010 and it is still the best hotel I've stayed at.

Hiromi was awesome ... always and always provided excellent service with a smile. Adam was awesome too, and gave me some insights into what to see and do in Prague.

I'm going back to Prague this summer and will be staying here again.

V helpful, because we were really wondering whether to upgrade to the Lounge or not.

Damian July 14, 2013 at 03:19 pm

James, this review is a bit old.. I was at this hotel in May and it is not as good as it once was. Hilton has also changed the brand standards for lounges, so ask about what they provide before you buy!

Any update or recent visit by anyone? I am trying to decide between the two Hiltons. Thanks.

This is certainly not the Hilton Prague I know. Having spent 2 years in Prague almost continuously, I found the Old Town Hilton to be the better of the two. I found the staff in the Hilton Prague to be very abrupt, almost to the point of being rude. The restaurants were also sub-par. I would recommend the Hilton Old Town over the Hilton Prague to anyone on any day. The lounge staff were on top form the whole time I stayed there.

I also stayed at the Crowne Plaza and the Intercontinental, but my preference was the Old Town Hilton.
