Virgin America has announced its newest destination and it’s NEWARK! VX will start service April 2, 2013 and will serve the airport three times daily from both Los Angeles and San Francisco. This service will compliment existing service from NYC-JFK.
Right now VX is offering introductory rates on both routes for only $149 each way in economy and are available almost every day in April! This is a great time to buy if you plan on traveling coast-to-coast for Spring Break or need to get back home cheaply after Easter weekend.
OR If you want to use Elevate Points, tickets start at only 6,419 points +$2.50 in taxes! So for those of you who took advantage of the 20,000 signup bonus from the Virgin America Credit Card, you could get from coast to coast for nearly free!

VX is taking on United and American on these routes. American Airlines and United Airlines fly between Newark and Los Angeles, and United flies between Newark and San Francisco. As VX boosts their presence in the New York Markets look for fierce competition and bonus offers from AA and UA and maybe even Delta. Again, this service will not start until April 2,2013, but for the mean time, remember that you can get a Status Match on Virgin if you have Elite Status with AA or United.

A nice new benefit to those who get sucked into the 1-3 day EWR monopolistic pricing on UA...competition should lower prices
