I am hearing some rumblings tonight that an announcement is coming as early as Monday morning that US Airways and American Airlines may officially tie the knot. With news on Friday that American Airlines' labor unions have thrown their support behind a deal with US Airways, this should come as no surprise.

Although I repeat this is only rumor, it appears the combined airline will take the American Airlines name, maintain its headquarters in Fort Worth, and be run by US Airways CEO ...

With the end coming to Continental's participation in the Amex Platinum lounge program (September 2011), I began to look for alternative ways to access the lounge.  While I don't fly CO or UA often, when I do, it is nice to have lounge access.

United and Continental airlines are on course to wrap up a new contract with their pilot unions by fall, a critical step if their megamerger is to deliver the $1.2 billion boost leaders of the carriers promised Wall Street.

While pilot talks progress, flight attendants and other worker groups likely face a long, arduous path to new contracts, which could undermine labor peace at the new carrier, sources ...
