Thanks to Ben, I noticed that Starwood had posted their annual set of category changes. Starwood, like most hotel chains, assigns a category to each hotel, and this category is roughly designed to reflect the prestige / cost / location of the property. I’m finally getting a chance to write my review of the St. Regis Princeville Resort.  Life got busy after my trip to Hawaii, but better late than never.  Hawaii was truly the trip of a lifetime made even better by my stay at the St. Regis.  My only complaint  was that I missed George Clooney filming "The Descendants" at the hotel.  Maybe I will run into him next time I’m in Kauai.

Starwood has recently announced some positive changes to their program.  These will take effect on March 1, 2012.  Kevin noted that Hilton also has recently improved the offerings of the Hilton Honors program.  Despite the economy improving and business travel increasing, I'm all for these positive changes for customers making for more competition among the hotel chains.

In October, I traveled to New Orleans (out of Munich) for a few days to attend the wedding of a family member.
