Overview: A better-than-average W hotel
Strengths: Rooms, dining, location
Drawbacks: If you like the W experience, probably none

After a mediocre stay last time at the purportedly haunted Grand Hyatt Taipei, I decided to try my luck with Taipei’s relatively new W hotel.

By the time we landed and made our way into the site from Taiwan’s main international airport, TPE (flights to TSA, the in-city airport, weren’t available), it was pushing ...

As a whole, I love Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG). Their points are incredibly valuable, and I generally find their properties to be quite nice. However, one of the biggest benefits of being a Platinum member is also one of the biggest annoyances. Starwood is generally considered to have the best upgrade policy of the major hotel chains (Hilton, Marriott, Hyatt, etc). If you're a Platinum guest, you're entitled to the following:

Sheraton BWI

On some recent business travel, I had flights messed up by stormy weather and ATC delays.  I want to share my experiences, and how I tried to make the best of a pretty frustrating situation.

We spent a few nights at the end of our trip to Bali at the Laguna in Nusa Dua. We split our time between the Laguna in Nusa Dua and the Bali Hyatt in Sanur.  We wanted to explore a few places during our stay, and we decided to try the Nusa Dua resort area for part of our stay.  Nusa Dua contains a bunch of high end hotels, including an Aman, Melia, Nikko, Grand Hyatt and Conrad.

After our time at the Hyatt, I wanted to get some stay credit for ...

The hotels I typically frequent for business travel aren't high end properties, but sometimes I am fortunate to have a meeting or something else that brings these hotels into my travel budget.  I recently attended a conference in downtown Atlanta, and stayed at the W Atlanta Downtown.

There were 4 W hotels in Atlanta.  I have stayed at the W Midtown in the past, and there is also a W in Buckhead.  The former W in Perimeter Center is now simply ...
