The deadline to make changes to your existing Hyatt Gold Passport reservations and still pay the old rate is this Saturday, February 15th. I booked a couple nights at the Park Hyatt Paris - Vendôme for this summer under the old rate of 22,000 points per night, but did not get the dates I ...

Lessening the sting of the Hyatt devaluation

Now that the global economy is improving, it seems the most travel loyalty programs are going through devaluations.  United's major devaluation took effect in early February.  This is almost an annual process at some hotel chains.

It is nearly 2014, which means it is time to reflect on the past year, and look ahead to the what the new year may bring.  It also means the counters reset for elite status qualification (argh!)
Here is my flight map from 2013.

Review: Park Hyatt Baku

Other than its barrage of CNN advertisements, you don't hear too much about Azerbaijan. When you do, it is usually a story encouraging investment by heralding the country's favorable interest rates and stable government or perhaps a blurb on the continuing tension with Armenia. But there is ...

Review: Andaz San Diego

A recent business trip brought me to San Diego, and while I usually stay at the W Gaslamp or the Sheraton in Mission Valley, I figured it was time to start shifting some stays over to Hyatt. I looked online, and I found an Andaz downtown. I had never stayed at an Andaz before, and I was excited to ...

A pleasant surprise from Hyatt

Yesterday I received an email from Hyatt which surprised me.  A few weeks ago I was in Chicago and to work towards my Diamond renewal opted to do some hotel hopping.  So in the midst of this, I happened to stay at a new Hyatt and this marked my 50th Hyatt property that I stayed at.  In honor of this momentus occasion, Hyatt granted me a free night usable at any Hyatt worldwide.  Definitely a nice perk and one I didn't expect.  I wonder what my 100th Hyatt will bring...
