Normally I try to highlight the hotels around the world that treat loyal guest right, but from time to time you run into hotels that just fail on so many levels. As a loyal Hilton Diamond for over 8 years I have become accustom to the standards of Hilton Hotels.

Hilton changes VIP requirements to qualify for elite status.

As of January 1, 2013, Hilton will adjust the requirements to qualify for elite status.

To qualify for Gold status: 20 stays, 40 nights, or attain 75,000 Base Points within the calendar year. (it was 16 stays, 36 nights or 60,000 HHonors Base Points)

To qualify for Diamond status:  30 stays, 60 nights, or attain 120,000 Base Points. (it was 28 stays, 60 nights or 100,000 HHonors Base Points)

All other tier level qualifications, as well as elite status received through Hilton HHonors credit cards and partners, will remain the same.
