My travels took me to Bermuda last weekend, thanks to a very low Delta Air Lines fare from Newark. Despite holding Delta Platinum status for a year (I have no status anymore with Delta), it was also my first time flying through Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport—back then I connected in Salt Lake City or Minneapolis only. Even though I was in economy class, the weekend made me realize that a lot is missing on United/Continental.

First, I had all ...

American Airlines All In Pricing

A refreshing change has hit U.S. airline websites this morning: the return of all-in pricing. Under a new directive by the Department of Transportation, airlines must now display all-in pricing initially and at all junctures of your flight search--not just on the final purchase page.

Most airlines have passively submitted, but low-cost Spirit Airlines came out ...

I've got my next two trips booked!  The first is to Las Vegas for work.  ;)  I'm going for my industry's largest trade event later this year.  Something memorable always comes about...

I was also able to redeem Delta SkyMiles for four non-stop low-miles business class awards on Air France's A380 from JFK to Paris-CDG for February break week.  This will be the kids' first trip to Paris - I'm sure they will love it.  Still recuperating from the cost of Hualalai, this trip is going ...

The flight from Fort Lauderdale to Lihue, Hawaii took 18 hours, 3 flights, and 3 Sky Club visits.  I was booked on a 767-300 (international) with fully reclining seats, but last minute Delta switched it out with a 767-300 (domestic) that has standard seats.  Fortunately I was too excited to sleep so I took pictures, read, and watched movies while drinking mimosa's in first class.  I saved all my computer work for the flight from SLC to HNL completely spacing there would be no ...

How would you feel if you were searched by the TSA, then "randomly" searched and questioned again prior to boarding, then required by the airline gate agent to show your identification while other passengers were not, then pulled off the airplane because those around you allegedly felt nervous, then searched and cleared by the TSA again, then still been denied boarding because the captain was "uncomfortable" transporting you?  All because of the way you looked.

I would be suing ...

Next week, I'm heading to London for a few days.  Though I've stopped over there enroute to the Gulf, I realized tonight that haven't been into the City there since 2007.  Pushing 5 years since my last visit...it will be interesting to see what has changed!

Unfortunately for me (though fortunately for my company's shareholders), Delta had a cut-rate business class fare available - roughly $1,000 lower than our negotiated fare on BA - so Delta will be my carrier this time.  Their 767-400 equipment on the route has the staggered lie-flat seats at least.  This will be my first time in that configuration - so if not BA, at least something new!

I will share my thoughts on the flights and my hotel upon my return.
