So far, the term "disappointing" has been pretty prevalent with the merger between United & Continental. From changing the benefits for everybody from Premier members to Million Mile Fliers, it has been expected that there would be more cuts to the COmbined carrier.

The other night I wanted to book a Star Alliance reward with my UNITED miles, so I called the 1K desk, I found the flights I wanted to get me from Manchester, UK (MAN) to Terceira, Azores (TER). Some agents are quicker than others, but generally telephone awards just take a long time to book. I type this as I wait (33 minutes and counting) to speak to an Air Canada Aeroplan reservations to book an award. Thankfully, I can multi-task...

Earlier tonight, however, I set a new personal record by booking three complex awards with United Airlines in under 15 minutes. The agent ...
