ALERT! All Singapore "low miles" award space open to *A partners

You may be aware that Singapore Airlines (a) doesn't offer all of its "low miles" award space to *A partners - in fact, much they do not release to partners and (b) is updating their reservation system this weekend.  It looks like this weekend, B trumps A!  All Singapore Airlines low miles award space appears open for partner booking at present.

Trips such as JFK-FRA, or EWR-SIN, over peak Christmas holiday dates for 2012 - in Singapore's Business Class cabin - are available right now for booking on United.com or Aeroplan.com.  I checked available for four seats, and both non-stop flights turned up availability.

sqerror2x JFK-FRA - the Friday night before Christmas - at least 4 low miles business class awards

sqerror1x Here is the return a week later

Even SQ21/22, the longest flight in the world, is available those same holiday dates!

sqerror3x SQ21/22 - The longest flight in the world

Note the price on the SQ flights - $48,164 to buy these four seats!  This compares to 480k miles.

This a 10cpm valuation - for longhaul international travel, for four people on the same flight, in a premium cabin, on Singapore Airlines, over Christmas.  This is about as good as it gets!

If you were thinking of a family trip - particularly to Asia - Christmastime or otherwise - you should be booking this.  The risk of cancellation fees for these awards if you decide you can't go is a small option premium to pay to get this sort of availability.

Sadly, Suites on A380s don't appear to be included.  They are coded a different letter than First Class, so don't appear.  However, 777 flights (which aren't Suites flights) will come up with First Class availability.

Singapore's system upgrade ends in the morning on Sunday NY time.  So if you are going to book, I'd suggest booking (not just reserving) your trip before then.

There is an other-than-trivial chance that SQ will attempt to not honor these bookings.  My sense is ultimately the passengers will prevail in this situation, but perhaps don't buy non-refundable hotel rooms for a little while till this is all sorted out.

Please let me know what itineraries you book!
