Hello from US 191 PHL-PHX, today is my first trip on US Airways in many years. I got a real good fare for R/T Business class from Manchester, UK to Seattle back in July for this weekend. A full review is coming but as I sit onboard this US Airways A321 with WiFi and so far very good service, I’m impressed! I do have to admit I had really low expectations. I will say the international meal was not bad at all, the crew was happy and funny.. but at times a little less professional then other airlines, the uniforms are a mess, I think one FA had a sweat outfit on with US Airways logos on it. The cabin of this A321 is very new and in good condition. The boarding process in PHL was something that needs help and the ground crew were just lackluster. There was a no-show in the F cabin and the head FA wanted to know who was next for the upgrade and the ground crew just did not want to deal with it. Good on this FA for making them find out and do their job.

It appears that United is finally going to add wi-fi internet access across its domestic fleet and possibly its entire fleet. This announcement, made almost off-handedly by CEO Jeff Smisek earlier today during United's quarterly conference call, is long overdue. While Delta and American already offer generous internet coverage on large swaths of their domestic fleet, United and Continental have lagged behind.

Continental and LiveTV have been working for years on a solution for ...

Delta is already one of the leading U.S. carriers when it comes to in-flight internet access and now has become the first U.S. carrier to offer wireless internet access on its regional fleet:

To mark the decision, Delta launched a flight of a Wi-Fi-equipped ...

It appears there are a few options for free onboard wifi this month.  Matthew previously reported about free wifi on Alaska.  According to a thread on Milepoint and a post by TPG, Diet Coke is sponsoring free Gogo for the month of August.

Simply enter the code DIETCOKEGOGO on Delta flights, and Gogo charges will be waived, up to $12.95.

Delta now offers Gogo wifi on 100% of their mainline domestic fleet, and are rolling it ...

Today, in a Senator's Lounge in Munich, I decided to chat up a cute-enough agent to try to get free Wi-Fi.  In the German Senator's Lounges, Wi-Fi is free to First Class and Hon Circle members, and pay access for everyone else.  T-Mobile runs the service, and it is priced much like it was when Delta, United, and American were charging for the service in the US.

Here's the conversation, translated from German:

Me: Hi there, gorgeous.  Is Wi-Fi free for Star ...

Delta has thrown up a cool web page showing the progress of all the amenity updates - flat bed seating, in-seat entertainment in Y, Wi-Fi, etc.  The link is:

http://www.delta.com/traveling_checkin/inflight_services/products/progress.jsp

Just five minutes ago, there was no link structure leading to this page, so it is likely brand new.

Interesting enough: the A330s are included in the monitoring for flat bed seating.
