After getting some work done at TPA, I boarded my flight back to IAD, this time a 757. First Class was only about 80% full and although the purser said this was a "completely full" (don't you love the redundancy?) flight, there were plenty of middle seats open in the back.

The flight departed at 1:47p and was less than 2.5 hours so there was no meal ...

I will be leaving for South America from Los Angeles Monday morning and needed to get from Philadelphia to Los Angeles this weekend. Naturally, I wasn't going to fly PHL-LAX!

Last night I was scheduled to fly from PHL-IAD-TPA to position me for a long day of flying today. After spending some time in the newly refreshed RCC at PHL, I hopped on a United Express flight down to IAD operated by Trans State. As some may have noticed, I've been a bit quiet this week and with good reason.  This week marked an amazing event, the The Star MegaDO.

Today UNITED new service starting in 2010

United Airlines will inaugurate its first-ever service to Africa in 2010, with one daily, same-plane service from Washington to Accra, Ghana, and Lagos, Nigeria. I would say that not may saw this coming. It is very good to see UA starting service to Africa.

The airline also will extend its existing daily Washington-Kuwait flight to include Bahrain, and will offer a new non-stop flight between Chicago and Brussels, Belgium. ...

Stories pop up all the time about gate agents making up their own rules or selectively enforcing others. This story takes the cake though: apparently a man's upgrade cleared at the gate for his IAD-BDL flight on United (Express), but when he walked up to get his new boarding pass, the gate agent denied the upgrade because of his attire, stating that he was dressed to casually to fly in First Class!

While I would never wear such casual attire on a plane, I see casually dressed ...
