The Regional Jet Wars Continue.  Years ago, United launched them by being the first US carrier to install First Class and Economy Plus in their fleet of 70 seat regional jets.  Delta has had First Class on the CRJ-900 and the EMB 175 for years now, but this year they and American announced that they were going to be installing First Class on the CRJ-700 to completely match United's offering of First Class in the 70 seat class of Regional Jet.

Google is partnering with AirTran, Delta, and Virgin America to offer free Wi-Fi on domestic flights during the holiday season this year. From November 20th through January 2nd,  inflight internet will be complimentary on these carriers, all of which use Gogo inflight Wi-Fi.

David Cush, Virgin America's CEO, sees the free Wi-Fi offer as bait to get passengers hooked, stating that "once people try Wi-Fi at 35,000 feet they rarely go back." I'm not so sure, but I do know that many will take advantage of the free trial.

Let's see if American and United find a way to crash the party.

It seems a lot of bloggers on the Huffington Post fly on United.

Yesterday, tech journalist John Battelle was minding his own business, video chatting with his wife and children from 30-plus thousand feet in the air, when a flight attendant informed him that he must disconnect the video stream for security reasons. Battelle was informed that the camera posed a security risk since he could potentially communicate with a terrorist.
