Matthew live and let's fly

Faisal Shahzad, the man who attempted to detonate a car bomb in Times Square earlier this week, almost made it out of the country. It wasn't until he drove to JFK, checked in, cleared security, and boarded his Emirates flight bound for Dubai that he was nabbed.

The talking heads were on cable news to discuss it and Fox News featured Michael Chertoff, the Secretary of Homeland Security in the Bush Administration, who not surprisingly said if the TSA was in charge, this wouldn't have ...

The Wall Street Journal has been quite humorous this week in covering the UA-CO merger:

Two years ago, Continental Airlines Inc. spurned United Airlines' proposal to marry, believing the time wasn't right.

The boards of directors of both companies unanimously approved the deal, which was expected to be announced by the carriers on ...

My first year of law school is over in two weeks and before my summer job starts, I want to squeeze in a UA award trip to Thailand and Japan--and perhaps even mainland China. As a backup, I also have BD, AA, BA, and DL miles to burn.

My last award redemption was an Air Canada, TAP, Lufthansa, SAS, US Airways combination in Business Class. While Business Class is great, I'd love to try out Thai Airways and Turkish Airlines in First Class, as well as re-visit Lufty's First Class ...
