I just got a call from Big Mike (no, fans of the TV show Chuck, not the guy who runs the Buy More, but the guy who runs Upgrd.com). The conversation went something like this:
Mike: Any idea why the traffic for our site was so high yesterday?
Hunter: No, why?
Mike: A bunch of people are looking at your post with all the chicks in it.
The post Mike was referring to is The Problem With a Certain Arabic Poem. In that post, I asked my fine readers to vote on the hottest of four smoking-hot chicks. After about five minutes of research, we found that everyone was coming to the post by way of a Google Images search for Jenn Brown. With Jenn being all over the NFL Draft coverage yesterday, she was searched within Google Images *a few* times. Just enough to more than double upgrd.com's daily traffic, which is already significant.
With that thought in mind, and in a shameless effort to increase traffic, I offer this promise to my outstanding group of readers: every post now comes with a free picture of a hot chick. I can't do this without offering props to Drew Magary of Deadspin. Drew is the writer of, among other things, the weekly Dick Joke Jambaroo. One of the best parts of the Jambaroo was the Halftime Masturbation Kit that Drew officially retired yesterday. Read his stuff. You'll wet yourself. Seriously.
On that note, since we already referenced Chuck, let's start the party with Yvonne Stra-I can't pronounce this, I mean, Yvonne Strahovski. Side note: Want to see the biggest toolbag on the planet? Go to Google Images and put in "Yvonne Strahovski Boyfriend". Unreal. There might be hope for all of us.
