The Making of a Podcast

Well, hello!

This is officially my first blog post on upgrd and I'm happy that I'm even able to do so! If you would have told me in early November that I'd be co-hosting a podcast with Sara Keagle, blogging with upgrd and having all of it mentioned in the New York Times "freakonomics" blog I'm sure I'd tell you that you were mistaken.

Sara came to me in early November, much like how Barbara Walters used to introduce "The View," by saying: "I have this idea for a show." She then asked me if I'd be willing to join her in creating this podcast about being a flight attendant, current events, and answering questions and misconceptions the traveling public has about the career. Of course, it's obvious, I accepted.

After much planning and work had been completed the only road block in our way was how to actually produce and create the show, and allow people to listen and download it. That's when Sara presented the work we had completed to Mike here at upgrd. Mike liked the idea, and very generously offered to produce the show as a part of the upgrd network.

I'll never forget the days leading up to December 29th when Sara and I were working out the final details of what was going to happen when, what topics we were going to discuss and who the first set of flight attendant panelists would be. Luckily it all came together smoothly and the first episode was recorded without a hitch featuring Brad, Patti and Edith.

Last night recorded our 3rd episode, probably coming out this Saturday, and I'm excited to see that this podcast we have worked so hard on has taken off (pun intended)! With only 2 public shows under our belt, soon to be 3, the feedback has been amazing and the buzz around the podcast has been even better.

Thank you for listening and thank you for helping this podcast rise to become a success while it's still in its infancy. Sara and I have a lot of fun putting the show together and have even more fun discussing the news and topics with our flight attendant guests.

Blue Skies Ahead!

Remember: If you want to send us questions to answer on the show or if you're a flight attendant and would like to be on the panel, send us an email at FA@upgrd.com
