After our journey to Phuket, we had a layover in Bangkok. We were stopping over in Hong Kong later in the trip, so due to ticketing rules, we could only layover in Bangkok. I booked it so we had a 22 hour or so layover in Bangkok. I've often visited cities in a mad rush when traveling alone for business, but this trip was leisure with my wife, so it took a bit of selling to get her on board. Plus, after a leisurely week in Phuket, she wasn't particularly excited about the madness of a big bustling city.
I had recently signed up for the Hyatt visa, and as a diamond, I received 2 free nights in suites at any Hyatt property. The Grand Hyatt Erewan Bangkok was highly regarded, and since we had only one night in Bangkok, I decided to use a free Suite night there. We were booked in a Grand Suite.

The room was basically in the footprint of 2 standard rooms, with one room a sitting room, and a the other a bedroom and large bathroom and walk in closet.

Fruit plate in addition to the points amenity I chose at checkin.
Also a second bathroom near the door:
I was one floor below the Grand Club, which is accessible via stairs. I don't have any photos of the club, but it was excellent, with an extensive buffet and waiter service offering complimentary alcoholic beverages and a few menu items. I only used the club for evening service, as I had the Thai Royal First Lounge to enjoy breakfast, plus a meal on my BKK-HKG flight. Stay tuned...

I agree, I would try to spend as much time as possible at the Thai Royal First Lounge!
That's a Grand Suite King at GH Erawan.
Thanks for letting me know, I have corrected the post.
I think my confusion stems when I booked this with my diamond agent, she called it an executive suite. I looked this up on the website, as there are different suite types listed. You are correct that I was actually in the Grand Suite.
I'd stay at an SPG property in BKK
