So this coming weekend, I have my whirlwind tour, that the only time I have to relax will be on my flights. As I mentioned previously, I will be attending the One World Mega DO launch party hosted at the Andaz West Hollywood. However, this weekend is also United's Family Day at the SFO maintenance facility.

Because of Family Day, I had to change my flights from a nice late Sunday morning arrival into LAX into a late night arrival Saturday night to SFO. Thanks to a friend and reader, I was able to score a great rate at the Hyatt Regency SFO, at more than half off of the going rate (which is still showing close to $200, but at least they found space).

Now, some of you may not be familiar with United's Family Day event, It is where United opens their maintenance base at SFO for an employee celebration filled with giveaways, plane tours, special viewing of Fleet Week, and even speeches from executives. Last year they were showing off a refurbished 747, the PS 757, and the first 737 painted in the new colors. I was also able to score some of the old destination posters done in the old UA style that you may have seen in the jet bridges. And around 1PM they even featured a slide deployment from the lower deck of the 747.

Then I join some other frequent flyer commuters aboard a 757 to LAX for the launch party and a night stay at the Andaz West Hollywood right on the Sunset Strip. I'm looking forward to the hotel as I really want to experience Andaz and see how they stack up to the other chain's I've stayed at, and the launch party is turning into an even more amazing event. Since my post, a theme has been announced and it is Pajama Party celebrating the launch of new upgraded service in American's international first class cabins.

I feel like the only thing missing is some event from Delta/SkyTeam for me to try and attend ;-)
