Reader Help Needed: What Should I See in Singapore?

Thanks to the glitch that occurred when Singapore Airlines upgraded their computers over the summer, I am off to Singapore next week. I am booked on on what is currently the longest flight in the world, SQ21 (EWR-SIN). After a two day stay at the Grand Hyatt, I'll be heading back to the US, although it will be on the Singapore A380 (SIN-NRT-LAX).

I have been to Singapore once before, although my visit was so short that I barely got to see the city. With three days in the city, what do you think I should visit? Several people have suggested that I should visit the Marina Bay Sands hotel to see their pool, located on the 57th floor of the hotel.

Thanks in advance for your recommendations!

I was just there in October. I recommend 1/2 day at the Botanical Gardens and Afternoon Tea on the 57th floor of the Marina Bay Sands. You do have to be a guest to use the pool.

Definitely do the Night Safari at the Zoo.

If you go to Marina Bay Sands (which you should) skip buying the Skypark ticket and buy yourself a drink at Ku De Ta Skybar (http://www.kudeta.com.sg/). The menu isn't posted but you can easily buy a drink for S$10, less than the Sky Park ticket. When I was there the security guard said if I showed my receipt I could enjoy the Skypark too. Gardens by the Bay is very neat, they spent nearly S$1 billion and have many exotic plants from all around the world, well worth seeing too.

Little India is good too, I'd say pass on Sentosa though nothing really worth seeing there. It felt a lot like an amusement park to me overrun with children and strollers
