It has been almost 90 days since the merger between US Airways and American Airlines was officially approved and the two airlines have been extremely busy integrating to synergize operations trying to maximize the ROI post-merger. As a consumers and travelers we have seen US Airways & American Airlines begin code sharing on most flights, the first US Airways plane painted in the new American livery, the final decision on the AA logo was made, US Airways & AA relocate into co-terminals ...

American Airlines offers two types of airline clubs: the standard Admiral club and the Flagship lounges. Like Flagship check in, the Flagship lounges are only for passengers traveling in International First Class, Transcontinental First (JFK-LAX), or OneWorld Emerald Elites traveling on an international itinerary. The lounge at LAX is within the Admirals club, but is separated by locked alabaster doors which is only opened by key cards. Passengers who have access to the flagship lounge are ...

Delta Tumi Amenity Kit Winners

I was very impressed by the number of individuals who were interested in the Delta Tumi Amenity Kit. I am not sure if it's the small durable bag which is great for mp3 players, cords, etc or if it's the hand lotion and tooth brush that's inside. Either way, thank you to everyone who left a comment on the Tumi amenity kit post.

Using I had the computer select three winners. The winners are comment numbers 4, 6, & 17.

Thank you to everyone who participated. I will be reaching out by email to the winners!

Three of the four new routes are currently served by Alaska Airline and the addition of these four new routes furthers prove that Delta is creating more than just a focus city in Seattle.

Delta Tumi Amenity Kit Giveaway

On my recent JFK-Sea BusinessElite flight I was able to secure three extra Delta Tumi bag amenity kits. These new amenity kits have been out for almost one year and have been a huge success with Business Travelers flying on long haul Delta flights. I had not flown a Delta flight since they introduced the new bag and I must say I was very impressed with the new amenities kit.  Not to mention, the eye mask (which I am still using) blocks more light than almost any other inflight eye mask ...

Hilton London Heathrow T4

Airport Hotels: meet the basic travelers need and get them on their way without any extra thrills. This has been my experience with most hotels located within any airport vicinity and this is the case with the Hilton at London Heathrow T4. The airport is comfortable with small rooms, offering basic necessity, but isn’t anything over the top or worth visiting unless you have a short overnight at LHR and wants to sleep between flights.

I landed at LHR around 930pm and had an early ...

A Final Farewell to Delta and Skymiles

Every year since the merger with Northwest Airlines, I have been a loyal Delta flyer. I have had status with NWA/Delta ever since I was 18 years old and have done everything in my power to reach Platinum status annually since I was 22. It’s been an interesting and turbulent 9 years, but last year I decided to separate my flying from Delta and burn my miles as much as possible. I’ve have earned over 1.5 million redeemable NWA/Delta Skymiles over the last 9 years and finally, after ...

Delta Tests New SkyClub Amenities & Food

It appears as though Delta Airlines is finally listening to frequent flyers and Delta Skyclub members. Delta is finally making some much needed enhancements to the Delta SkyClub food and beverage offering. Over the last few years we’ve seen the introduction of the premium Delta Skybar and with the introduction came a former bar tender at most clubs, resulting in self-served beverages disappeaing from most clubs. Even soda machines have vanished, to be replaced with an overworked man ...

Large spacious lounges with runway views and a bird's eye view peering down on travelers fighting their way through the busy terminal 5, the British Airways Galleries lounge  at London Heathrow is a great place to relax before a flight, refuel on many food options, or toast your friends or raise a glass to your drinking habits to calm a nerve. GOGO Inflight WiFi increases Prices March 1, 2014

Inflight WiFi – The unbundled option most airlines now offer is an amenity I love to hate. I love it because it allows me to stay connected while at 30,000 feet, but hate it as I now no longer have an excuse of not getting work done while flying. Despite this slight conundrum, I find inflight WiFi prices to be quite high when bought for individual flights - $14 for a day pass! The monthly price of just $39.99 isn’t bad, especially if someone flies multiple times a month, yet this ...

Alaska Airlines Needs to Open a Board Room in San Diego

For the past several months there has been speculation on Flyertalk and from the San Diego Airport Authority that Alaska Airlines might open a Board Room in Terminal 1. Alaska Airline is currently the only airline that operates out of Terminal 1 (gates 11-18). Currently, the crowded and small gate area offers 7 gates, a Starbucks, cramped seating area, bathrooms, and few concessions. There’s also abandoned space from the old United Red Carpet Club which closed recently because United no ...
