In response, Alaska is offering an even sweeter promotion for Alaska Airline Mileage Plan members. Mileage Plan members can earn DOUBLE redeemable miles & elite qualifying miles on ALL flights from ...

Air France Lounge Frankfurt Airport Schengen Flights

During a lengthy flight delay from Frankfurt to Rome on Alitalia I had plenty of time to kick back and relax in the Air France Lounge. The lounge is a decent size lounge for the few number of flights the Sky Team offers from Frankfurt to other schengen countries and offers plenty of room for travelers to relax before their flight. I ended up in the lounge for close to three hours, awaiting departure. The lounge is located directly next to the British Airways/Iberia lounge at the far end ...

Alitalia Business Class Frankfurt to Rome

After a fantastic five weeks traveling Europe, it was time to return to the states. I was traveling on a Delta award ticket and I had redeemed 100,000 miles to fly business class to and from Europe. My return flight was on Alitalia from Frankfurt via Rome and onwards to LAX. Upon arriving at Frankfurt, I found that my Alitalia flight departed from terminal 2 which is a good 10 minute walk & tram ride from the airport metro stop. After trekking for what seemed like miles (Star Alliance ...

TSA Precheck Expands to San Diego Despite Government Shutdown

Despite the government shutdown, I am happy to report that TSA is continuing to expand TSA Precheck across the country and has not paused the roll out of precheck in new airports during the partial shutdown. Last week, when I flew from San Diego on October 3rd (day 1 of the shutdown), the TSA agents told me that due to the shutdown all TSA training was halted and the launch of TSA Precheck in San Diego would be delayed due to the shutdown and lack of training. In spite of what I was ...

Qatar Airways is running a fall special that allows your to bring your companion with you in business class free of charge! Travel must be completed by March 2013 and you must travel beyond Doha to enjoy this two for one special! The best part is, the fares are not even the restrictive or the highest fare class. Which means the fares are somewhat reasonable considering that they are business class tickets and 2 people are traveling for the price of 1 person! The kicker is, to take advantage ...

AirBerlin Economy Class Krakow to Berlin

Earlier this year, I flew AirBerlin from Germany to Catania, Italy as part of an award ticket by transferring my American Express Membership Reward Points to my British Airways Avios account. On that trip, flying AirBerlin was nothing special and AirBerlin did not offer any OneWorld Elite benefits (I.e. priority check in, priority boarding, priority baggage, etc). The experience was fine, but nothing spectacular. This time, my brother and I flew AirBerlin on an early morning flight from ...

I Flew easyJet and Liked it!

I won't lie, I took my first intra-Europe flight on easyJet the other day and I liked it! It wasn't anything special, but I still enjoyed my flight.

Why did I like easyJet?

1) Straight forward pricing. Yes, I had to pay to check my bags, but the website made it extremely clear how much it would be and provided me with a discount for paying for it online vs at the airport.

2) Early check in. There's no excuse for having to check in at the airport with easyJet, ...

Krakow Business Class Lounge - Schengen Flights

The small but modern business class lounge in the Krakow International Airport Schengen departure area of the airport is shared by all airlines who fly within Schengen countries from Krakow. This means, OneWorld, SkyTeam, and Star Alliance passengers along with Priority Pass card holders and alirines that belong to no alliance share one space. Thankfully, the airport is not extremely busy and during my early morning visit I had more than enough room to stretch out and relax as I watched the ...

Delta Continues Seattle Expansion; Could Sour Relationship With Alaska Airlines

Delta continues to expand in Seattle and encroaches on routes that have been long time Alaska Airline strong holds with more domestic flights to and from Seattle.  This all began in March of 2012 when Delta announced expansion plans in Los Angeles.  Included in that plan were new routes to Seattle, Spokane, Costa Rica, Boston and more. Then in July, Delta announced more west coast expansion from LAX to smaller markets such as Portland and San Jose along with an increase frequency on ...

The US Airways Visa Card is quickly becoming one of my favorite credit cards to have in my wallet for a number of reasons! First off, when I signed up for the card I received 40,000 bonus points (Now only 30,000 points). Prague OneWorld Airport Lounge - Menzies Aviation Lounge

After flying CSA Czech Airways from Madrid to Prague, I decided to do some quick airport lounge hopping before leaving. In the transit area, I visited the Skyteam ESTRA lounge and also briefly stopped in the OneWorld s7/Finnair lounge which is operated by a third party; also known as the Menzies Aviation lounge. The lounge is small, but provides excellent runway views and plenty of space to relax before a flight.

Single serving wine bottles ...

Prague Airport ERSTE Premier Lounge - SkyTeam Schengen Flights

After landing in Prague from Madrid, I stopped by the CSA Czech Airways lounge to print out my train tickets I had bought from Prague to Krakow for later that week. The lounge is operated by a third party operator and despite being looking like a SkyTeam lounge, and listing all the skyteam partner along with about 20 other airlines, the lounge would not grant me access. This is because they are only paid by Skyteam airlines when passengers are departing. I then noticed the lounge was a ...

CSA Czech Airlines Madrid - Prague Business Class

After a lovely week of exploring and partying in Madrid and Barcelona, my trip with my brother across Europe continued. Using a 100,000-mile Delta Business Class award (thanks to being able to book phantom award space on KLM via a long sell) ticket, we were able to stop over in Spain and continue to Prague on CSA Czech Airlines. Thankfully, Delta Award rules allow 1 stopover in route and open jaw routing. So, in this case, we took full advantage of this by flying from LAX-AMS-MAD, MAD-PRG, ...
