LAN 787 Business Class MAD-FRA

The 787 is by far one of the newest and most elegant birds that are currently flying the skies. The plane with its sleek look, sloped wings, and distinguish looks is a plane I honestly look forward to flying every time. I will not lie, being only my second time to fly the 787, after I booked my ticket using my American Express membership reward points via a British Airways Transfer I was like a little kid on Christmas.  It only cost me 15000 avios + $23. It was easy to book via the BA ...

The changes affect elite perks such as free baggage allowance, discounts on Delta economy comfort seats, boarding privileges and other benefits. As the battle for Seattle heats up and Delta and Alaska duke it out to be Seattle’s #1 “hub” airline, ...

Luxx Lounge Frankfurt

The Luxx Lounge at Frankfurt sounds like it would be a luxury place for travelers to relax in a tranquil and elegant environment, maybe even offer guests some of the finer things in life; after all it’s the LUXX lounge.  The lounge is the only Priority Pass lounge in T1 and serves airlines such as US Airways, Qatar, Condor, Airmalta and others. Unfortunately, it is everything but luxurious, and instead, entering the lounge is like entering  time warp into a dark and danky ...

Medical Emergency In the Air & I'm the ONLY First Responder Aboard!

Flying is something so many of us take for granted. Cheaper air fare today allows millions of people all around the world to fly from coast to coast, country to country, continent to continent, or city to city. Some flights are long and some flights are short. In spite of the length of a flight, flying has become one of the safest ways to travel. Despite this, further reflecting on the fragility of life that Matthew wrote about last week, I had my own interesting flight experience this week ...

Priority Pass Ends Relationship with US & AA Airport Lounges

Earlier this year when American Express announced that they were terminating their airport club agreements with American Airlines and US Airways, I wrote an article explaining how Priority Pass, which is free with the American Express, could be a travelers’ saving grace. After all, Priority Pass has club agreements with American Airlines in Honolulu and San Juan, Puerto Rico along with other Latin American Destinations and most US Airway Club locations accepted Priority Pass. I ...

American Express Platinum 40000 Points Limited Time Offer

The American Express Platinum card has temporarily increased its sign up bonus for new card holders, or anyone who has not had the American Express Platinum card in the last 12 months, to 40,000 bonus points; up from the typical 25,000 new card holder bonus. The new bonus almost doubles what the typical bonus is, not as lucrative as the targeted 50,000-100,000 bonus seen in the past, but is by far the best bonus available for this card and is the best I’ve seen in over 6 months. ...

AA Flagship First JFK-LAX 767-200

American Air’s Flagship First product is supposed to be the most premium product flying between LAX & JFK. AA was the first airline to fly the route, and now they compete with a slew of other airlines. In order to keep their competitive edge, AA introduced the new A321T this year.  I was fortunate enough to fly the A321T from LAX-JFK in Flagship First, but on my return I was ticketed on the old work horse, the 767-200. The plane is old and tired, near retirement, and the cabin ...

American Airlines Intl' Business Class / Domestic Flagship First Amenity Kit GiveAway

The American Air Flagship first amenity kit is actually the same amenity kits used on international routes that AA serves and provides to customers in Business Class. The Amenity kit was provided to me when I flew Flagship First from LAX-JFK on a redeye on the new A321T. Interesting enough, when I flew the return portion of the trip on the 767-200 from JFK-LAX I was not provided with any amenity kit in first. I am not sure if this was a catering mistake or if the amenity kit is a product ...

Ameican Airlines & JetBlue End Partnership

Just over 3 1/4 years after American Airlines and AAdvantage partner JetBlue teamed up in New York and Boston, the odd couple has decided to split way as of April 1, 2014. As of April 1, fliers will no longer be able to earn and burn miles on each airline and the interline agreement between AA and JetBlue ceases immediately.

American Airlines and JetBlue Airways plan to terminate their interline traffic agreement and reciprocal frequent flyer program accrual agreement, ...

American Airlines Refurbished 767-300 w/ Pictures

American Airlines has released photos of their new 767-300 business class cabin that will feature lay flat seats with all aisle access. The new cabin is not anything unseen or over-the-top but instead puts American Airlines in sync with other carriers. The 1x2x1 set up on the 767-300 looks very similar to the Delta set up, with a few changes and coloration difference. The nice part is the color scheme is right on par with AAs other new business class cabin and it looks ...

Earn 15,000 Bonus Miles on AA flights Between JFK & SFO

American Airlines has officially launched the A321T between JFK and LAX and now the plane is heading towards SFO, replacing the old workhorse 767-200. Similar to the bonus mile promotion that AA offered when it launched the A321T between JFK and LAX, American is now offering up to 15,000 bonus miles round trip for any nonstop flight between JFK and SFO. The best part is, it doesn’t even actually have to be on the A321T! Although if you can fly the A321T, I would HIGHLY recommend it as ...

Delta SkyMiles 2015 Award Chart - It's Bad!

Delta has revealed their Skymiles 2015 award chart for travel from North America ONLY and I must say I am further unimpressed with Delta Airlines than ever before. The airline touts that “Of the 44 Award level pricing changes, more than 95 percent of the changes reflect a decrease in the miles needed for Award Travel redemption by SkyMiles members” yet, when I reviewed the chart, very little has actually decreased and every award pricing is still higher than the 2013 award charts ...

Qatar Airways has revealed to the world what they have in store for their new A380s—and it looks amazing! The seats and more were on display at ITB trade show in Berlin this week, and Qatar proved once again to the world that they are serious about remaining a premium carrier and the world’s best airline!

First class on the Qatar A380 will have 8 seats on the forward upper deck, providing a smaller and more intimate cabin than most of their competitors. Other A380 ...

Today, Garuda Indonesia joins the SkyTeam alliance becoming the alliances 20th airline member. Garuda Indonesia has been extremely hard at work over the last 3 years reinventing itself, trying to become one of the world’s leading airlines and one of the few Skytrax 5 star airlines. Chile Ends Visa Reciprocity Fees

For several years, traveling to the deep southern reaches of South America for US citizens has meant a hefty visa reciprocity fee. Chili, Argentina, and Brazil charge US citizens $160 for a Visa and have for many years. Each time the US raised the price for visa for foreign nations, Chile, Argentina & Brazil has matched the increase. The reasoning, if the US is going to charge our citizens, we are going to charge them an equal fee. In my opinion this is completely ...
