I get to London a lot and I’m always searching for the best hotel for the money. As a Hilton Diamond, I look for a hotel that will provide the best benefits. On my latest trip I gave the Hilton London Tower Bridge a try, and I was impressed, it is a very modern, well run hotel with great VIP benefits. After my last Hilton stay in the UK at the down right nasty Hilton Newcastle I'm happy to see this hotel represent the Hilton brand as it should.
Here is a video of the hotel that Hilton Worldwide has produced, highlighting the Hilton London Tower Bridge.
Check in was quick and very nice, the staff provided all the information I needed, welcomed me back as a Diamond.
We were a group of 6 with 3 rooms, all booked on a mix of rates, some reward nights, a prepaid sale rate, and a point and money rate. As a Diamond I was upgraded to a great suite, along with an executive room, my other friends had a deluxe room. Being able to take a look at all these room types, no matter what you book this is a solid hotel! The rooms are a good size for London. The suite was very large with 1.5 bathrooms. The guest 1/2 bath had a basket of washcloths to dry your hands, a little thing but a very nice touch.

The executive lounge was also one of the best I have had at a Hilton in London and really in the UK. The lounge was renovated less then a year ago, and I found the lounge to be very welcoming and functional. The really cool thing is the roof top terrace with a good deal of seating and cool views of the city. Our group spent a lot of time on the terrace and did enjoy the ability to take drinks and food outside and the staff was always looking out for us.
The nightly service was very nice, with high end hot items that were not in a massive tray for guest to scoop out, but some single serving plated items, or a very small amount of items under a heat lamp and on a heated platter. The staff was very good at keeping up on the hot food and everything I had was hot and good. A very nice cheese plate was out, fresh veggies, a mix of other cold items. The hours for the “happy hour” was also a bit longer then some Hiltons, going from 6-9pm. During this time you have the great food to pick from, along with soft drinks, beer, wine and spirits. To go along with all this you get great service from the lounge staff. Breakfast in the lounge was also very nice, with some eggs and bacon to go along with a typical continental breakfast.
As a Diamond I was given the option to eat in the main restaurant for the full breakfast, a nice perk that many Hiltons in Europe pass along, and something I do enjoy. The breakfast was very good with made to order egg items. One day I just got eggs from the buffet and they were very cold. The omelet is the way to go. Service was good in the restaurant.
I love the location of this hotel, right next too the Tower Bridge a short 5 min walk to the “London Bridge” tube stop. 15 min walk over the bridge to the Tower of London and 30 min walk to St. Paul’s. Taking a walk at night to see the bridge at night is very cool.
I did find the staff very nice and helpful during my stay. I called the front desk to request a late check out and was given a check out of 3pm for free as a Diamond, I did ask for 5pm and was told they would need to charge me for that. I just asked them to store my bags. When I went to the executive lounge for a quick water, I was greeted by a smile and helpful agent. I did ask her if I could do a 5pm check out for one of our rooms without a fee and she told me she would check for me. Breakfast service was still in progress in the lounge and she was working hard to keep up and just did a great job.
She did call my room a short time later letting me know we could stay in one of the rooms until 5 without any fee. After a day in London we got back to the hotel at 4:30 to refresh before our train later that day. We found out our train was delayed so we wanted to check our bags and walk around. The staff member who I asked if I could store bags was the only grumpy staff member I ran across, she asked question after question about what time we checked out and if we all were guest in the hotel, and telling us 5pm check outs cost 1/2 a room night. (We checked out in the lounge just 10 min before this). She was very snobby to us, sadly this was the last interaction we had with a staff member at the hotel.. and her mood did leave us with a bad taste.
Over all the hotel is great, modern, clean and a great location for my needs in London. It can be up there in price at times, but if you check you might find a very good rate from time to time. As a Diamond they do treat you right, good upgrade, great lounge that I would say it worth paying for, and a great staff. The standard rooms are very nice, modern and clean, but compact.. this is London however and the rooms are great to sleep and shower.
There is a reason why this is one of the best rated Hilton family hotels in London on TripAdvisor, and the Hilton London Tower Bridge is named 'Top Hotel in England' in the 2013 Zoover Awards.
