In its 55th year of operation, the Hilton Istanbul continues to impress with its great location, inspiring views and facilities. In 2010, the Hilton Istanbul Executive Lounge was cited by US Business Traveler magazine as being one of the ‘World’s Best Executive Lounges’.
The Executive Lounge features floor to ceiling windows with stunning panoramic views across the Bosphorus. Guests with Hilton Diamond status or staying in suites and Executive Rooms can enjoy complimentary continental breakfast and refreshments in the Lounge throughout the day, while staff are always on hand to assist.
Set within 15 acres of picturesque gardens, guests can enjoy the option of five restaurants and bars, an outdoor swimming pool, tennis courts as well as a luxury health club. The hotel is like a resort in the middle of a major city. I was very impressed with it’s classic look with modern touches and fantastic service.
As a HH Diamond I was upgraded to an Executive room with a balcony looking toward to Bosporus. There is an express lift from the lobby level to the executive floors. The room was very large with nice beds, the décor was classic and fit the hotel well, the bath was also good for a hotel of this age, the room was very well maintained and for some reason you start to think about who might have had this room in the past. This hotel has a very cool history and just celebrated it’s 55th year. I will not get into the history of this hotel but if you have an intrest in Hilton hotels and Conrad Hilton do a quick search on this hotel. Here Conrad Hilton displays a model of Hilton Istanbul – the first hotel ever featured on a postage stamp and to be given its own postal code.
This hotel is old school but in a cool way, when you walk in you feel special. You can see and feel the history all over. I did get to meet with some of the PR folks for the Hilton cluster in Istanbul and they are very proud of this hotel, and it’s history. It shows when a staff and management have pride in the hotel they work in, my stay was perfect! Good VIP treatment with a nice upgrade, choice of breakfast in lounge or the restaurant. A very well run lounge with a large staff to serve you food and drinks, along with a lounge front desk for check in and hotel service needs.
So as always I want to provide some photos of this hotel so you can see how it is for yourself. But really to get the real feeling of this classic Hilton you need to make a trip to the very enjoyable city of Istanbul.

"Probably the best Lebanese Restaurant in Istanbul"
Overall very pleased with this hotel, it was a very rewarding “reward” stay, the location is good, the staff is helpful, the rooms are big and clean, and the Ex lounge is one of the best. The Hilton historical part of it all makes it unique. Check out the hotels youtube page for some old videos of the hotel. Here is a video of 350 general managers from Hilton Worldwide's portfolio of hotels in Europe, Middle East and Africa crossing the world famous Bosphorus Bridge, (this bridge is closed for foot traffic and connects Europe and Asia). Is it sad that I recognize some of the GM’s ?!?!?
