207531 As I first reported on back in Aug, Hilton Worldwide is set to opens two hotels this December in the iconic and futuristic THE SQUAIRE at Frankfurt Airport, two of its hotel brands will stand next to each other in this new development. As Germany’s second Hilton Garden Inn, the Hilton Garden Inn Frankfurt Airport will offer 334 rooms, in addition to 249 rooms and suites at Hilton Frankfurt Airport. I have been in contact with the hotels and both hotels will open on 20 December 2011. As of this post you can book after 30 December but look for that to change soon. The Hilton FRA airport will be a HH Reward cat 6 (40,000 points) and the HGI will be a cat 5 (35,000 points).

Thank God! That Sheraton at the Airport has gotten so run down and cocky. They were the only game in town. Looking forward to these hotels very much. I like to book an over connection in FRA when flying from SFO to the Mid East. Price points at the Garden Inn look good, the Hilton looks a little high at this point.

Good news Damian, thanks for posting the update! Do you know what HH Diamond perks they will have? Like most other Hilton hotels in Europe will they let you have Breakfast in the Restaurant? and not only in the lounge? Someone that works at Lufthansa told me that LH will be using these hotels and cut back on the Sheraton is this true? Can you find out? Good to see that it will open soon! 2 years late!

I have stayed at the Sheraton FRA several times a year for more than 20 years. It has become a tired, run down and unpleasant place to stay. The staff are hopeless and the restaurant poor and overpriced. It's proximity was its only saving grace. Thank heavens for the investment Hilton has made. I can't wait to stay there later this year!
