FRA is my home airport, and I really want to be on the first A380 Lufthansa flight. We know today that it will be FRA-JFK, but do not know a date or what flight. LH has 2 non-stops a day FRA-JFK now served by a B747 & A333. At times both flights are on a B747.
Wolfgang Mayrhuber said today that LH will inaugurate its Airbus A380 service between Frankfurt and New York next year.
Chief Executive Wolfgang Mayrhuber said the German airline had evaluated 12 markets from its Frankfurt hub for the new aircraft—including Tokyo, Shanghai, Johannesburg and Los Angeles before opting for New York.
Jet Blue should be happy with more Germans looking for connections off the LH flights. LH has a 30% stake in Jet Blue.
I will try to find out what LH flight number will get the A380 service first. LH400 or LH404, I'm told by a LH contact that I have, it will be LH404 because it is the more popular flight, and LH400 has equipment changes at times of the year.
No word on a date yet, but Wolfgang said today by the summer 2010.

That sucks, looks like you will have to fly to one of the other destinations. LH really though everyone through a loop.
