Continental used to count all elite qualifying miles as eligigble for Lifetime Million Miler Status. In other words, if you flew on an Alliance carrier or Continental, it still counted. United only counts flights on their own metal. To equalize the programs with the merger, United gave all Mileage Plus members a one time "bump" on January 1st this year. Miles flown on Star Alliance carriers or any Double EQM promo miles would be added to our lifetime flight miles count. Well... January 1 came, and I got some miles!
Wow! I knew I'd get at least 100,000, and then I figured because of various double eqm promotions, I MIGHT get as many as 130,000 or 150,000, but I wasn't expecting this much of a bump. It looks like Million Miler status isn't that far away for me, after all.
